CASPER, Wyo. (Wyoming News Now) – Casper Pride planned five days of events for the community this year. These events are a way to make people feel seen.
Mallory Pollock, the Casper Pride Chair, said visibility is one of their goals. “When people see that support that maybe you don’t get at home or find in their everyday community and they have it here I think that gives people the strength to go throughout the rest of the year,” Pollock said.
Casper Pride has been around for six years. Pollock said they used to have events in the corner of Washington Park and have grown to David Street Station. “Every year we are going to be here and remind people that we are here and carrying on that tradition even if it looks different,” Pollock said.
Casper Pride has seen a ton of community support. “One of the juggling acts this year has been keeping up with everyone who wants to be apart of it. It’s been phenomenally overwhelming,” Pollock said.
